Dinefwr Ramblers

Cambrian Way - volunteers needed!

The Ramblers need help surveying and maintaining Wales’ historic Cambrian Way. The route runs from Cardiff to Conwy and you’ll be able to explore some of Wales lesser known sites and also be part of a national project.

Our Survey Volunteers act as ambassadors for the Cambrian Way - providing guidance to members of the public, assisting with routine checks and minor repairs, and reporting any issues or concerns to the Area Coordinators.

Job Role

Regularly surveying your section of the Cambrian Way to check the route is safe to use
Become familiar with your stretch of the Cambrian Way in terms of the surrounding areas and features along with any obstacles that walkers might come across
Reporting any misuse/ problems on the route to the Area Coordinators
Helping keep the route presentable, picking up litter where necessary
Work alongside Local Authority Rights of Way Teams and Countryside Rangers to install furniture such as waymarks, stiles and gates

This role will suit you if you are...

• Outdoorsy, whatever the weather’s doing

• Reasonably fit and healthy – you don’t need to be Bear Grylls but you’ll do a lot of walking and practical tasks
• Keen to learn new skills
• Passionate about Wales’ walking trail network

By getting involved you could

• Feel the wind in your hair, and get a tan without trying
• Help look after important landscapes for future generations
• Use your passion for the outdoors and share your knowledge with visitors
• Work alongside passionate countryside management professionals and volunteers, learning skills and making new friends along the way

If you interested in being part of this fantastic project then please contact myself on the below details. We can then discuss the project in more detail and outline what section you’d be keen to work on.
